美國在台協會也已與台灣相關機關啟動初步交流，以評估此合作的可行性。合作初期可能將
以無人貨運任務為主，隨著技術成熟，未來也可望發展載人飛行。這項合作不僅突顯出台灣
在太空創新上的日益潛力，也標誌著美台科技夥伴關係強化的又一重要里程碑。

The United States is in discussions with Taiwan on a potential spaceport partner
ship, which could one day enable suborbital flights that reduce travel time betw
een Taipei and Houston to just 2.5 hours. Houston’s Ellington Airport already o
perates a licensed spaceport, while Taiwan has designated Jiupeng in Pingtung as
the site for its launch facility—with the potential to upgrade it into a futur
e spaceport. AIT has also initiated preliminary exchanges with relevant Taiwanes
e agencies to explore the feasibility of such cooperation. The initial phase of
cooperation may focus on uncrewed cargo missions, with crewed flights to follow
as capabilities mature.

This initiative not only highlights Taiwan’s growing potential in space innovat
ion, but also marks another milestone in strengthening U.S.–Taiwan technologica
