首先我覺得該先上這段

簡單翻譯一下：
梅林：只有最好的騎士能舉起這把劍，那將會是蘭斯洛特...
　　　而蘭斯洛特會用這把劍殺了他在這世界上最愛的人，那個人勢必會是高文。
（梅林還把這段話刻在劍柄上，只是不知道是哪把劍）

我覺得這段文字應該足夠防雷等下我要說的話（應該
總之在高文寄了一封死前遺書（情書）給蘭斯洛特，
希望蘭斯原諒自己，來自己墓前替自己祈禱並出兵來救亞瑟王，然而蘭斯因海象不佳被困
在多佛海峽
當蘭斯終於抵達發現人都已經死了非常難過，想殺莫德雷德復仇，拒絕接受事實
CHAPTER VIII. How when Sir Lancelot heard of the death of King Arthur, and of
Sir Gawaine, and other matters, he came into England
Sir Bors建議蘭斯先去看高文的墓，然後是亞瑟王的墓之後再去找王妃。
Then Sir Launcelot kneeled down and wept, and prayed heartily for his soul.
蘭斯一見到高文的墓就跪在幕前哭泣並替高文祈禱
And that night he made a dole, and all they that would come had as much
flesh, fish, wine and ale, and every man and woman had twelve pence, come who

說起來高文死的時候亞瑟才替高文辦過一次喪禮，婚禮兩次喪禮也兩次的高文

順帶一提，在蘭斯殺了高文全家之後，高文請人傳話給蘭斯要求單挑的時候
蘭斯洛特是這麼回的：

that I'd stop loving him.
And I wouldn't have said that so directly.
很明顯的：不論高文多恨我都無法阻止我愛他。通常我不會說的這麼直接。
（對，在蘭斯的騎士跟眾人面前這樣說，這還只是其中一句（一言不合就告白
後面流淚要高文原諒什麼的，高文：太遲了，蘭斯洛特去死吧。）
即便如此，高文最後還是想見蘭斯洛特請求原諒，並且覺得是自己得不好
蘭斯洛特是好人，弟弟們會死是自己沒保護好......嗚嗚
