The NBA forward, who has earned more than $153 million during his career,
explained that people who make financial freedom their primary goal may
overestimate how much their lives will change once they achieve it.
籃網前鋒MPJ生涯已經賺超過1億5300萬鎂，對於大家追求財富自由當作主要目標，認
為大家對於達到那樣的目標後的生活改變太高估了。他說：
“I try to explain that to people that look at me or look at other people who
are very wealthy, and that’s their goal and sole purpose in life is to reach
financial freedom. And I’m like, ‘You don’t understand that once you get
that, it does take a certain stress away, but it only takes financial stress
away.’”
「我試著跟解釋給那些看著我或者其他也是很有錢的人，把這些當作人生終極目標，達到
財富自由，我總是說：
『你們不懂，當你達到這個目標後，這會讓一些壓力減少，但是那只有把財務的壓力減
少。』
Porter acknowledged that having significant money initially provides access
to experiences and possessions that previously may have been unavailable.
MPJ同意當賺到很多錢後，一開始會讓以前沒有辦法得到的體驗跟沒有辦法買的到的東西
變得觸手可及。
However, he believes the excitement eventually fades as those advantages
become part of everyday life.
但是，他認為這種興奮感隨著這種優勢變成每日平常後，會逐漸消退。他說:
“It doesn’t change your baseline happiness levels. It’s cool for a minute.
You can buy things you never bought. You can do things you never did. But
even that, you’re going to get accustomed to that and then you’re right
back to normal happiness.”
「有錢不會改變基本幸福感，一開始很酷，可以買以前不會買的東西，可以做以前不會
做的事。即使這樣，之後也會逐漸習慣，然後回到本來的幸福水準。」
