With deep disappointment and concern, we have taken note of the recent stateme
nts made by the Chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), Mr. Eric Chu. Any attempt to
relativize the crimes of the Nazi regime or to draw parallels between the atr
ocities committed in Germany and Europe between 1933 and 1945 and the current
political situation in Taiwan is profoundly troubling.
We must state unequivocally: Taiwan today is in no way comparable to the tyran
ny of National Socialism. The institutions in Taiwan cannot and must not be li
kened to the instruments of terror employed by the Nazi regime.
We respectfully call on the KMT leadership to refrain from invoking inappropri
ate and historically insensitive comparisons in domestic political discourse.
The millions of victims of National Socialism compel us to uphold the dignity
of historical truth and to reject all forms of trivialization.
Rather than distorting the memory of the past for political ends, we should wo
rk together to ensure that the crimes of the Nazi era are never forgotten, and
that historical awareness is strengthened—both in Germany and in Taiwan, and
throughout the international community.

我們對中國國民黨主席朱立倫近日的發言感到深切的失望與關切。任何企圖相對化納粹政
權罪行，或將1933年至1945年間德國及歐洲所發生的暴行與台灣當前的政治情勢相提並論

我們必須明確表達：今日的台灣與納粹時期的暴政毫無可比性。台灣的制度絕對不能也不

喻。納粹主義下的數百萬受害者促使我們必須維護歷史真相的尊嚴，並堅決反對任何形式
