On February 20, 2026, Méndez signed with the Sultanes de Monterrey of the Mexic
an League.[20] In six appearances (four starts), he struggled to a 0–3 record w
ith a 9.16 ERA, 21 strikeouts, and 11 walks across 18+2 3 innings of work. On M
ay 22, 2026, Méndez was released by Monterrey.[21]
